Ecclesiastes 3 9-13
- 9. What does the worker gain from his toil?
- 10.I have seen the burden God has laid on men.
- 11.He has made everything beautiful in its time.
He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom
what God has done from beginning to end.
- 12. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.
- 13. That everyone may eat and drink,
and find satisfaction
in all his toil--this is the gift of God.

Down Economy Only Means OpportunityBy Michael Cassidy
We cannot avoid the headlines covering the economy, splashed with photos of Wall Street employees carting personal effects out of their offices or holding their heads in their hands on the floor of the stock exchange. Banks and bankers running scared, foreign banks drooling over the prospect of owning United States based financial firms, we consumers waiting for the next round of bad news and our fearless politicians running to the microphones in order to save our day and futures.
Future is Yours...want it?
I'm here to tell you, the future is ours, however, only if we want it. I will not share wondrous fairly tales of great riches at every turn, however, I will offer a practical perspective that is easy to adopt. Despite working full-time plus in the non-profit industry, I recently became involved in the network marketing business and I am having the time of my life. Additionally, I have never felt more in control of the destiny of myself and my family. This is no sales pitch and I will not even share the business I am involved with in this article. Unemployment is rising and credit is hard to come by even with stellar ratings -- not good signs for any business. In network marketing, I am in charge of my plan, my path, and my success or failure. I do not rely on an employer in determining my success or potential income -- for the first time in twenty-years, I AM IN CONTROL of my future.
Make a Match
In researching business opportunities I researched many franchises, businesses for sale, and home-based businesses. Despite feeling secure in my employment, the old expression always rings in the back of my mind: "you never know". Throughout my research I ran into a friend that invited me to a meeting. Now, I can just imagine everyone rolling their eyes -- how many meetings have we been invited to and had the forms placed in front of us as our heads were still spinning? This meeting was different -- sure it had the contagious energy, however, the data and products presented matched my family's lifestyle perfectly. I had found my match. I don't recommend becoming a network marketing opportunity meeting groupie, but it does not hurt to attend a few. It is important to find that match.
Know Your Keys
The business opportunity had to have four key elements for me to sign on the bottom line (after reading the fine print - making sure we could keep our first born): great product(s), great support, part-time, and would challenge me as I grew within it. Before hunting out that great business venture, make sure that you think about and fine-tune your requirements and expectations (keep them realistic). I have actually turned people down to join me in this business because just through conversation I determined it was not a match for them and they would not likely achieve success. I saved them their enrollment fees and some future disappointment.
With products we believe in, it is easy to tell everyone on the planet about how great they are -- we want to rush on the rooftops and let the world know -- it is exciting. I love the products I represent and hope I can share them with the world. Imagine my excitement when I sat in that meeting and knew I had found the perfect match for me and my family. I've been sharing it since along with the business opportunity and it has been a great experience.
In regard to support, some opportunities sign you up and then set you free, others hold your hand for months or years -- I was looking for something in the middle yet had the hand-holding when I felt it was necessary. I am new to this, it is part-time, and I don't like to be pushed. Know your needs in regard to support prior to researching your opportunities.
Lastly, I wanted an opportunity to grow personally and professionally in addition to a business opportunity. I am a firm believer in being a life-long learner, and I am learning more part-time now that I ever did as a full-time college student. Each day presents new and exciting challenges and I have been exposed to so many new skills as I navigate through my new journey.
Headlines or Deadlines
We are fortunate to live in the land of the free and home of the brave. The choice is ours in regard to the current economic climate -- do we place our hands in the fate of politicians, bankers, or Wall Streeters or do we take control and determine our own destiny. I recommend everyone take steps to ensure their future is in their own hands, it provides a great level of comfort and security. All of the activities I perform part-time lead to my success. I had set a personal deadline of finding an opportunity before the end of 2008, with that big item checked off the list I am slowly working on the many remaining. What is your deadline? I wish you the best of luck and the greatest prosperity.
Michael Cassidy is a proven non-profit executive known for team development and operational turn-around. He has applied his skills to network marketing and is finding success and does all he can to share it with the world. He is always looking for new team members to join him on the exciting journey.

MLM and the Current Financial Problems
There is a lot of talk and coverage from the media the last few months about the current financial problems the US economy is facing that threatens to drag the whole world into a global recession. But what will be the consequences of that crisis to the MLM industry?
Actually, the MLM network marketing industry is to benefit from all this turmoil for many reasons whether we dive into a recession or hopefully manage to avoid it. First let us take the worst case scenario that we do get into a recession or even a depression.
In that case, many corporations will start lay offs in a big scale and many people will find themselves unemployed, while others under reduced salary. Such things could lead to an increase in the people who are looking for opportunities in order to start a home based business and supplement their income. Of course the great increase won't come for those who lost their job, as they would be desperately looking for a new job to survive, but from the rest. It would come from people who will keep their jobs, but would keep feeling a constant threat that their job is the next in the line if another round of lay offs would happen. Probably a percentage of them would be working under reduced salary, so they would have another incentive to start looking for alternatives to supplement their income, as probably their paycheck wouldn't suffice.
Many MLM opportunities are poised to benefit from that influx of new members and many distributors would manage to fill their downlines fast and build networks that would give them passive income in the years to come.
But even if we hopefully manage to avoid a crisis and things would go back to normal, many people took their lesson from what little we have experienced till now. While not in a big scale we still had lay offs, and many people saw their investments in the stock market falling. Investments that were supposed to provide for them when they reach the age of retirement. Add to that that the decline in the house prices hurt a lot of people that were relying on the increasing value of their homes in order to draw equity from them through refinancing to cover a part of their expenses, and you realize how hard people were hit.
Under all this, it is natural that many people learned how dangerous is when you rely on others for your economic future and are going to seek for alternatives. Alternatives like having and running your own home based business instead of relying exclusively to employment for a source of income. And of course a percentage of them will get into MLM as it is offering many advantages that is very difficult to be found in other business models.
Learn the tips and tricks that can help you succeed in MLM and build a big downline in any network marketing opportunity. Knowledge is vital when it comes to building your home business in any multilevel marketing company and you should always allocate a percentage of your time to your training as it would define your future success.

Network Marketing Now - Sowing Seeds and Harvesting Success
|
There is no question that network marketing and MLM are powerful home business models. Many people have earned substantial residual incomes with this business. However, statistics say that many people starting a network marketing home business will quit within their first 90 days. Why is this?
How do you know what to look for? Consider this story about a gardener and a network marketer who both get off to a good start but give up too quickly. I know this may sound silly, but bear with me.
Our gardener rents a small, fertile plot of land from his neighbor. He plants his garden to provide food for his family. He has never raised a garden before, but has ideas about what it will take and does some reading on the subject. He tills the soil, plants his seeds, and makes sure everything is watered in. He takes care to check his garden daily for weeds and insect pests.
At the same time, our network marketer plants his own seeds by advertising his business in several different places. He is new to network marketing, but is following the training provided by his upline.
After one week, our gardener finds a few seedlings sprouting from the soil. He is delighted, and continues checking his garden daily and watering regularly. Our network marketer receives a few inquiries about his business and is diligently following up. Both are pleased and feel they are going in the right direction.
After two weeks, a lot more seeds are sprouting in our garden, and some weeds too. Our gardener diligenty pulls the weeds and keeps everything going. At this point his work is increasing, but he is more than happy to keep at it. Our network marketing business builder receives a few more inquiries, and places some more ads.
Now three weeks have passed, and our new garden is starting to take off and grow fast. The seeds that sprouted the first week are now big plants, but so far have not yielded a harvest. Our networker is feeling okay about his prospects, but still hasn't sponsored his first associate.
After six weeks, our gardener finds that the seeds he planted so long ago have become pretty big plants, and many are nearing the stage where they will begin to produce a crop. Our network marketing guy has sponsored one new associate from all his efforts.
At this point our gardener has second thoughts. He has put in a lot of work for six weeks, but has no vegetables to show for it. Frustrated and tired, he quits tending his garden. He is saying to himself, "This just didn't work. Look at the time and effort I put into this, money too, and I have nothing. Gardening doesn't work!"
Just two weeks later, his neighbor gathers 15 pounds of potatoes, a dozen nice tomatoes, and a bushel of beans. This is only the initial harvest - there is much more to come. He is puzzled. It just doesn't make sense that the gardener quit so close to the harvest he had worked so hard to enjoy.
At the same time, I'm afraid our network marketer has second thoughts too. He says "I have put in all this time and effort, spent $500 on advertising, and all I have to show for it is one new associate. Network marketing doesn't work!"
When our networker quit, guess what happened? He lost everything he had worked toward. His sponsor and upline will now reap the rewards of his hard work and the seeds he planted.
I'm afraid that many people quit at a similar point in the growth of their business. It isn't unusual to start out, and two months later only have one or two new distributors in your group. You were likely expecting many more new associates by now, but is this really the time to give up? Not at all!
Growing a business, just like growing a garden, takes time, effort, and money. Don't let yourself get discouraged just at the point when things are primed to start happening. Make a one year minimum commitment to your business and do the right things. You will be rewarded!

The Real Truth About MLM And Network Marketing
The Real Truth About MLM And Network Marketing
http://www.corsavoo.com/networking/0,2577,454615,00.htmlThere are many reasons people fail in MLM. They may have gotten involved in a bad company with a poor compensation plan. The products may not be top quality or anything special, so there is no demand for them. They may have received little training, poor training, or even no training at all. They might have been abandoned by their sponsor. They may have had the wrong expectations-- thinking that the money will come pouring in without any effort on their part. But the biggest reason for MLM and network marketing failure is giving up!
On the other hand, compare this to traditional entrepreneurship, which has its problems, too. I am a college business professor, and I’ve had traditional businesses of my own, so I know the odd of success in starting up a traditional business are that 9 clean carpets of 10 new business will fail the first year. And then there is another 4 in 5 chance that those businesses who survived the first year will fail to make it to the fifth year.
Wow, when you consider the amount of money spent and/or borrowed to get those businesses running, that’s pretty scary! Add to that the time involved in running a small business. professional carpet cleaning people put in 60+ hours a week, for less income than a job would give them. I’ve often seen dreamers who started their own traditional business find themselves crashing and burning with reality as they lost their credit, their homes, and in some cases marriages and families. Ouch!
I believe in entrepreneurship! I believe in the dream of having your own business-- no boss, no time card. Freedom to set your own hours, work where you want, live where fabric cleaning want, spend time with your family, travel and take time off whenever you want. Freedom. That’s what its all about! And it’s not traditional business that brings this freedom, it’s network marketing.
I’ll take the odds in MLM and network marketing any day! I’ll tell you why. If the 95% failure figure is correct, then it’s including all the people who just sign up to try the product, or decide for whatever reason they don’t want to work the business.
The truth is, for those who really want to work at this business, 95% of all people who stay with their network marketing company for 10 years will reach the highest level of their company’s compensation and upholstery cleaners which is usually at least $500,000 annually. And the income needed to start and run a network marketing business is nominal compared to a traditional business!
I’ll take those odds any day! You see, all you need to do is:
1) Find the best network marketing company you can.
2) Commit to learning and working your business.
3) And don’t quit.
Success in MLM and network marketing is a choice. Choose to do it!
I can do that. How about you?

Lessons from Network Marketing
From David Teten & Scott Allen, for About.com
Network marketing, or multi-level marketing, is one of the fastest-growing business models of the past few decades. Between 1993 and 2003, total direct selling revenues grew by 7.1% annually, dramatically above the rate of growth of the economy -- and of total retail sales (according to the Direct Selling Association).
The most prominent examples of direct selling companies include Amway, Avon, Mary Kay, Nu Skin, and Herbalife, which recently went public. In 2003, U.S. total direct selling sales totaled more than $29 billion, or almost 1% of the over $3,397 billion for total U.S. retail sales (U.S. Census Bureau).
Any business model that has achieved this kind of success probably has lessons that all business people can learn from. We define this family of business models as a method of distribution in which people are paid for sales volume generated by people they have recruited into the distribution network. 20% of American adults reported they are now (6%) or have been (14%) a direct selling representative -- defined as "the sale of a consumer product or service, person-to-person, away from a fixed retail location." In 2000, 55% of American adults reported having, at some time, purchased goods or services from a direct selling representative.
A significant number of network marketers have negative experiences with the industry. That is why 70% of all people who have ever been a direct selling representative are no longer in the industry. For the purposes of this column, we will not go into the challenges and problems in the network marketing model. There are plenty of Web sites on that topic.
We all work for ourselves. Gone are the days of being a "company man" -- your career is your business. Multi-level marketing just makes that explicit. Yet one of the things that makes the sector most attractive, the low barrier to entry, also creates some its greatest dangers. Many people get into it without the necessary skills to run a successful business.
We are primarily interested in what lessons all business people can learn from successful network marketing practices. We recently interviewed some of the industry's top experts and found seven lessons that all sales and marketing professionals can use to be more effective, regardless of their industry:
Every business is a relationship-based business
So says John Milton Fogg, founding editor of Networking Times, author of The Greatest Networker in the World, and one of the most successful teachers of network marketing. You cannot sell an inferior product with a superior relationship, but you need at least a functional relationship to sell your product. That is particularly apparent in multi-level marketing, an industry built around belly-to-belly sales.
Think analytically about your network
Shaul Gabbay, in his book Social Capital in the Creation of Financial Capital: The Case of Network Marketing, reports that the fastest-rising group of entrepreneurs [of the direct selling representatives whom he studied] were those who had initial weak ties to dense networks. In other words, successful salespeople penetrate an untouched market, and then work to gain a high market share in that market. This is easier to do if that untouched market is highly dense; everyone in it knows all the players. Why? Because word of mouth in that type of network will spread more rapidly about the value of your product or service. This principle is particularly evident in network marketing, an industry where "networks go to work." However, the same idea applies to almost any business.
Create a community around your product
One of the great ironies of the software business is that not only do many software companies outsource their development off shore; many also outsource their customer support to their own customers! When Best Software encourages you to visit their user forums to discuss your issues in using Act! software, that is a very cheap way for Best to support their product. Multi-level marketing companies rely almost exclusively on their communities for sales, support, follow-up, and recruiting.
Leverage the unleveraged
In 2002, 79.9% of the direct selling sales force was female. 56% completed only a partial college education, technical or trade school, or have only a high school education. This sales force looks very unlike the traditional American corporate sales force, which typically is much more male and has a higher level of education. However, the direct selling sales force looks just like their customers. People can be very effective salespeople when selling to their own community, because the common culture and interests create a foundation to build strong relationships more quickly.
Build a relationship first
"Internet marketers and network marketers share a common, terminal disease," Fogg says. "If you think of the whole process like dating, we bring someone to our Web site, and then we ask them to have sex immediately. There has to be some courtship first." One of the delicate aspects of network marketing is that people leverage their personal relationships to sell a product. Although that leverage makes some people queasy, the success of the network marketing model shows that many people do comfortably build multiplex relationships: Their friends are their customers, and vice versa. With delicacy, you can do the same thing.
Not everyone is a prospect
One mistake some network marketers make, as do many other sales people and marketers, is thinking of everyone they meet as a prospect. In network marketing, this is known as the "Three-Foot Rule", i.e., anyone within three feet of you is a prospect. But top network marketers don't do this. Max Steingart, creator of the "Success Online" training course for network marketers, says that it's not just about figuring out when to make your pitch, but even if to make your pitch. "You just build relationships with a lot of people. Some will become prospects and some won't," he says. "There's no timetable. If the time is right, you'll know."
Use online networks
The network marketing industry is a particularly good industry for leveraging online networks. Steingart teaches people how to "make the world your warm market," specifically by using online networks. He reports that when he instant-messages someone to start a conversation about potentially joining his distribution network, 50% of the people he contacts will respond to the conversation. More and more sales and marketing professionals will use online networks to accelerate their sales.
What else can traditional businesses learn from the best practices of successful network marketers? We welcome your comments and feedback.

6 Ways to Generate the Best MLM Leads
From Lisa Willard, for About.com
Leads are essential for any successful network marketing business. But where do you find the best multi-level marketing (MLM) leads? Is it lead generation, or do you buy leads? What’s the best way? Good question.
You need prospects for your business and customers to purchase products. Without the two, your business will not exist. So what is the answer?
Should you generate your own, or should you buy leads from a respectable leads company?
The answer isn’t as simple as you may think. Generating leads and having people come to you is the best scenario. And it works. It does take time. But in the end, it gets results.
Generating the best MLM leads is both a skill and an art that can be learned. One of the important factors to remember is that you are talking to real people. It’s not about you. It’s about them. Find out their feelings, their goals and wants. Then provide a solution. Build a relationship and then a partnership.
The fact is most people don’t care about your company, pay plan, etc. They care about finding a solution to their problem.
The good news. You can produce your own MLM leads. Today, the Internet has allowed us to do just that. There are many different ways to product the best MLM leads, but here are a few of my favorites:
1. A Personal Website.
Learn to sell yourself. Why should someone join you? What makes you unique? And what value and expertise do you bring to the partnership? Answer these questions on your Website. Sell “you.”
2. Use an Auto responder.
As leads visit your Website, offer a “free report or newsletter.” This will build your subscriber list and allow you to communicate with your prospects. Use it to provide valuable information. Timing is everything. If the timing isn’t right today, it may be next year. Be that person who has stayed in touch.
3. Have a plan.
You will need to set goals and stick to them. Be consistent and stay focused.
4. Write articles.
Article writing is a great avenue for building a presence online. Submit these articles to e-zines and newsletters. Articles are powerful because you can present yourself as an expert in your industry.
5. Create a blog.
Blogging is fun and it allows you to write freely to your niche. Blog posts can be various lengths. Blog regularly and watch your traffic grow.
6. Learn to Squidoo.
Anyone can do it. It’s simple, fun and it allows you to monetize your marketing. I’ve created some of my best MLM leads through Squidoo.
Generating the best MLM leads is a process that won’t happen over night. But it will happen. Pick one or two lead generating avenues and master those. Then, when you are ready add one more and repeat.

Work harder, take home less
From 2000 to 2007, worker productivity rose significantly in the United States, but real income fell for middle-class families, a group of economists says.By David Goldman, CNNMoney.com staff writer Last Updated: August 28, 2008: 7:05 AM EDT NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- For most of the past decade, the economy grew much stronger - but middle-class Americans had little to show for it. That's the conclusion of a trio of economists who on Thursday released a preview of their book The State of Working America in 2008/2009 due out next year. Despite two periods of recession in the past decade, U.S. worker productivity still rose 18% in the 2000s - about 2.5% per year, according to author Jared Bernstein, a widely followed economist from the liberal-leaning Economic Policy Institute. But inflation-adjusted income for the American middle-class family actually fell during the same period. The median real income for working-age middle-income families in the United States dropped $2,000 between 2000 and 2007, from about $58,500 to $56,500, the U.S. Census Bureau reported Tuesday. As a result, the 2000-2007 business cycle was the first ever in which the nation's middle-class families had less real income at the end than when they started. "It's a compelling example of a large disconnect," said Bernstein. "Americans aren't being rewarded for their productivity." That's a stark change from 1989 to 2000, when the median income for working-age middle class families rose 10% - about half of the productivity growth over the same period, according to EPI. Had the trend of the '90s continued, the median income of working-age households would have risen by $3,600 instead of falling in the 2000s. Not every economist agrees with that assessment. "The numbers are misleading, because you need to take into account everything that workers are earning, including substantially more in health care and retirement plans," said James Sherk, the Bradley Fellow in Labor Policy at the conservative-leaning Heritage Foundation. Weak job market Bernstein said the middle class has not taken out an equal share of what it put into the economy because of weak job creation during the decade and a widening gap between rich and poor. "This is a story of missed opportunity," Bernstein said. The nation suffered through a weak job market in the 2000s. Jobs grew only 0.6% during the period, which wasn't enough to keep up with the growing population, the EPI said. As a result, there were 1.5 million more unemployed workers at the end of the business cycle than at the beginning. "The official unemployment rate understated how difficult it was to find a job in the 2000s," said EPI economist Heidi Schierholtz. "The U.S. jobs creation machine came to a screeching halt after the 2001 recession and barely picked up steam in the recovery." Schierholtz cowrote The State of Working America with Bernstein and another EPI economist, Lawrence Mishel. The book was originally published in 1988; the new edition includes updated chapters on jobs, wages and income. According to the book, the economy took four years to return to the previous peak jobs level after the 2001 recession - an unprecedented amount of time. The recovery took more than twice as long as the 21-month average of all other recoveries after 1945. Jobs weren't helped by a second round of very weak economic growth toward the end of the cycle. "The economy of the 2000s has been like shampoo instructions: Bubble, bust, repeat," Bernstein said. "We need to generate growth that's sustainable, not on bubbles." By the end of the business cycle, nearly one in five unemployed workers had been out of a job for at least half a year. Furthermore, one in 11 workers were underemployed in the 2000s, as they were looking for full-time work but involuntarily took part time jobs. Workers' hours were cut by 2.2% in the 2000s, which negated the median family's 1% rise in hourly wages. Sherk said, however, that unemployment levels are comparable to other decades other than the 1990s, when the tech bubble added a disproportionate number of jobs to the economy. "Unemployment is high compared to the late '90s, but not the '80s," Sherk said. "It's not unusually high, especially when you consider that the labor force hasn't grown as rapidly this decade as it did in the 90s." Increased inequality Another finding from the book:Many middle class Americans who had jobs probably found that their bosses were getting big raises, while their paychecks were staying about the same. That's because 90% of the growth in U.S. workers' income from 1989 to 2007 went to the top 10% highest earners, EPI said. Income for the top 1% grew 204% since 1989, and the top 0.1% saw their income grow 425% in that span. But Sherk said the top earners are rarely the same today as they were five years ago. "This is coming from people who weren't in the top 1% before," he said. "Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, the Google founders. It looks like they're getting more than their share, but it's actually something else: They're all setting new high standards," Sherk said. Still, the gap continues to grow. In 2006, the top 1% held the highest share of total U.S. income since 1928, according to EPI. "There was a vast disconnect in what people earned with what they produced," said EPI's Mishel. Network marketing - a get rich quick scheme?
No! BIG resounding no. Do not listen to the person telling you about their opportunity if they are telling you it’s a quick thing. They are either telling untruths or wanting you to join for the wrong reasons.
Do not expect overnight results. Network marketing is not about getting rich quick, it’s about getting wealthy over a reasonable period of time. As with most things, to succeed in network you need to go through a process of understanding, learning and application. It’s about building yourself to a level where you can carry a hugely successful business and be responsible for it.
I believe that people get what they deserve in life. It’s another one of those difficult things to take but it’s true. The successful and rich around you have sacrificed something to get what they have. They will have invested time, commitment, hard work into what they have. You look at them saying they are lucky but you do not see the effort that went in and probably still goes in now. So if you want to succeed not just in network marketing but in any thing, ask yourself what you are willing to give up to get what you want. That might be TV time, social time or lie ins at the weekend so you can dedicate some time to applying yourself to the task in hand that will give you the results you want.
If you are willing to go through the journey life will give you what you want. I’m investing in myself in order to get what I want.

Former "Company Man" To Teach Ordinary People How to Make Money -- Not Earn It in Today's Uncertain Economic Environment
Former corporate rising star gives up the "security" of Corporate America and finds the freedom and lifestyle that he deserves by marketing in the $11 Billion Personal Development industry.
Farmingdale, NJ (PRWEB) August 14, 2008 -- With the Bureau of Labor Statistics latest publication of "The Employment Situation" it is no surprise to find that unemployment rates are up again. These trying times weigh heavily on the minds of most Americans, increasing stress as well as overall frustration. Brian Pray, however, has found a solution to this uncertainty. Operating his home-based business, All You Want In Life LLC (www.AllYouWantInLife.com), he has given himself the opportunity to work from home and to be present in the lives of his children all while teaching others the same simple marketing system that can enable them to achieve life altering results.
| |
Personal Development has become a main focus in Brian's life. "In the past, things like my mindset and thoughts were just never even a blip on my radar," Brian reflects. "It turns out my lack of happiness was a direct result of that."
This is no longer a concern as Brian is now afforded the luxury of beginning his day with a vigorous workout followed by a live company Wake up to Success conference call. "It's great to start the 'work' day by being energized by a community of people who are all about living life to the fullest -- a life without limits. It just puts you on track to achieve great things."
The Personal Development industry has indeed achieved great things and just last year garnished revenues of $11 billion. The industry continues to expand and is on a rapid growth curve with projected revenues to reach nearly $14 billion by 2010. "When our economy is taking such a hit, why wouldn't you want to be involved in an industry that is flourishing?" Brian asks. "There are a lot of really unhappy people in the world who just want more out of life. We not only offer products that can help them get there but we can also teach them the same marketing system that we have used to gain our freedom which can then facilitate dramatic changes in their lives. It's a no-brainer."
When asked about the current unemployment rate, Brian reflects, "It's a shame, it really is. Just recently I saw several of my former coworkers lose their jobs to an outsourcing initiative. If you follow the news, it seems like there is a similar story every day." He goes on to add, "That is major reason why I made the decision to learn how to make money rather than how to earn it. I didn't want my livelihood to be at the mercy of someone else's whim. Besides, it is much more fun to get paid what I'm worth rather than what my employer thought my job was worth. My days of trading time for money are long gone."
With the volatility of the current job market, it is no surprise that Brian Pray is building his success story. "People know what's going on. They know that no matter how good they are the fact remains that their jobs are expendable." Brian declares. "There is no more safety in Corporate America and unfortunately 'career stability' is a thing of the past. Offering a person the ability to take control of their success by providing them with a proven system that includes ongoing training and mentoring by self-made millionaires is just something that most people want."
Brian looks back on his decision to enter entrepreneurship in Network Marketing as one of the best decisions he has ever made. "It is great. Where else can you start a legitimate business, have it up-and-running in a matter of days and have the ability to be profitable and recover all of your upfront costs within the first few months?" asks Brian. Knowing franchises were another option but with exorbitant fees, extensive beak-even points and long work hours, Brian concludes, "I didn't want to wait that long to see a profit and I certainly didn't want to trade one job for another."
Brian's journey has now come full circle and the student has become the teacher. "It is great to have the ability to not only the help empower others so that they can change their lives but to also be able to lead them and teach them the same system that has allowed me to free myself." Brian continues, "There is nothing better than giving someone the key to unlock their potential. We give ordinary people the ability to achieve extraordinary things."
Brian Pray is truly passionate about helping people find the same success that he has achieved. Fueled by an unyielding desire to help others achieve great success he believes that his prosperity comes as a byproduct of this. He has built his foundation on very simple values and beliefs and knows that truth, integrity and character have made him the person he is today. Through his work with All You Want In Life LLC he is dedicated and determined to help people get the most out of life. He truly wants you to "Live your BEST life now!"
Brian Pray is currently expanding his business and welcomes the opportunity to speak with motivated individuals who are ready to create their success stories. He can be contacted at 732.927.5316 or through his website, AllYouWantInLife.com. A brief audio recording highlighting this opportunity is also available at 800.770.9072.

Workers tighten belts as pay falls
Workers tighten belts as pay falls
Fewer full-time jobs, less OT, contract givebacks hit employees' wallets hard.
Jennifer Youssef / The Detroit News
As if the high cost of gasoline and groceries and the slumping housing market weren't bad enough, Metro Detroit workers are battling another economic force: the shrinking paycheck.
From the auto industry to retailers to home builders, companies are cutting payroll costs as they try to stay alive through one of the worst economic slowdowns in Michigan history. Some companies are turning full-time workers into part-timers; others are eliminating overtime; still others, particularly in the auto industry, are implementing new labor contracts allowing two tiers of workers, one making half the pay of the other.
Also feeling the pay pinch are self-employed workers such as house cleaners and hair stylists who are trying to make do with fewer customers.
Metro Detroiters are dealing with their shrinking paychecks by paring back their spending and looking for second jobs.
"The people we're seeing were living paycheck to paycheck and struggling anyway," said Dorothy Guzek, a financial counselor at GreenPath Debt Solutions. "They were doing OK, but because they lost a couple of hours of work, it put them behind."
The Farmington Hills-based financial counseling firm is seeing a lot more clients, up to 40 each week, Guzek said. Some 80 percent have had their work hours cut.
Average weekly earnings and hours for workers in two of Michigan's largest industries, manufacturing and construction, are flat or down, according to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
Employees at manufacturing companies lost $50 a week, comparing May 2008 with May 2007, and were down $2 a week comparing June 2008 with June 2007. June showed a slight uptick in auto worker earnings, according to labor department figures, after being down in May year-to-year. That doesn't take into account the tens of thousands of auto and construction workers who lost their jobs altogether.
If they haven't already left the state, laid-off workers are either still looking for work or have settled for jobs that are part-time or lower-paying, or often both.
Sharon Rose of St. Clair Shores was working 32 hours a week as a hairdresser, but business has been so slow that she's lucky to get 24 hours now. As a single mother, 27-year-old Rose was already having a hard time paying the rent, filling her gas tank and taking care of her daughter.
Nowadays, she skips the afternoon trips to Starbucks with her co-workers, brings her lunch from home and is looking at downsizing to a one-bedroom apartment because she can no longer afford the two-bedroom she's been renting for two years.
"It's just really hard," she said. "Sometimes I feel like giving up, but I know that's not an option. I don't want me and my daughter to be homeless."
Lower pay vs. being laid off
When the economy is weak, many companies cut workers' hours "just to keep their heads above water," said John Challenger of outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas. "They are looking at ways to save money, short of layoffs, to cut costs."
Layoffs are usually a last resort because once someone has been let go, "the die is cast and they'll be losing a valuable worker," Challenger said. "No one wants to (fire workers) when they're cutting into muscle."
The recent minimum wage hike in Michigan -- from $7.15 an hour to $7.40 on July 1 -- could force companies to further cut employee hours, said Mark Perry, an economics professor at the University of Michigan Flint campus.
"If companies want to stay in business in this competitive atmosphere, these cuts have to be made," Perry said. "If the option is cutting hours or losing your job, I think most people would choose lower pay."
Rose is holding on to her job at the salon, but she's considering picking up another part-time or full-time job at another salon or waiting tables on weekends.
"We'll make it," she said. "One way or another, we'll make it."
'It just kinds of stinks'
Thousands of workers across Metro Detroit are making the same tough choices, as they learn to live with their shrinking paychecks.
Before he took a buyout a little over a week ago, 46-year-old John Baisley, an electrician at American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc., was earning $30 an hour, $2 less than he was before Axle workers went on strike over their labor contract in February. (His pay would have dropped further to $26 on Monday, if he hadn't taken the buyout.) Baisley also hadn't been getting eight hours of overtime a week that had been routine before the strike.
Between the pay cut and fewer hours, Baisley was taking home several hundred dollars less than he had been in the previous 13½ years he's been with the manufacturing company. To adjust, Baisley and his wife, Suzanne, ate out less and left their less fuel-efficient 1998 Chevy Malibu at home and shared the 1999 Saturn that gets better gas mileage.
Baisley also doesn't take his 1979 Camaro Z28 to costly drag racing events in Lapeer anymore.
While he looks for another job, the couple will live off their savings. It has helped that the Baisley family of Clinton Township has lived frugally, stashing away John's overtime pay.
"We've always lived on a 40-hour paycheck anyway, so it's not going to be real terrible," he said. "It just kind of stinks that you have to do it."
Dawane Richards has reduced his spending, too, since losing his $12-an-hour job stocking shelves at Farmer Jack after the grocer left Michigan last summer.
After job hunting for six months, the 30-year-old Detroiter found a job as a waiter. But he's making about 25 percent less than before.
His tips are down and he's worried that his days at the restaurant are numbered because fewer customers are dining there.
He said he misses going out with his friends for a drink. And he can't remember the last time he bought his girlfriend a gift or smoked his favorite cheap cigar.
"I'm making it, but I don't know for how much longer I can keep going like this," he said. "I'm lucky I got a job at all, but, I don't know, it's tough. It seems like I'm working all the time and not getting anywhere."
